External Posting DescriptionPrimary Duties & Responsibilities Responsible for the design, implementation, support, and security of high performance communication technologies and services across (Wide Area) and within (Local Area) company sites. Responsible for the oversight and coordination of network activities (support and implementation) within the Asia Pacific Region. Participation in the global team providing support and implementation across regions. Develop, implement, manage and improve network technologies and services and oversee the II-VI regional network technology infrastructure. Establish, promote, and enforce standards for network infrastructure components to ensure security, reliability, and compatibility between and across II-VI locations. Proactively plan for local and wide area growth and business needs. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciencerelated area or equivalent work experience and knowledge. 4 years minimum of experience in network and telephony planning, design and management for a global company Cisco route & switch CCNP certifications are required. Voice and/or security certifications are preferred. Skills Possess expert knowledge of network and data communication protocols and technologies. Able to design, implement and support converged networks with voice, data, video and wireless access. Must be able to scale upwards and adopt newer technologies that include converged infrastructure, software defined networks, and application delivery. Possess proficient knowledge and practical experience in the design and management of dynamic network routing and switching; wireless networking; implementation and support of VoIP technologies and videoconferencing. Experience with Cisco and Arista technologies, Check Point firewalls, Palo Alto and F5 equipment is preferred. Strong vendor management experience desired. The candidate should have good communication and troubleshooting skills to manage MPLS, telecom, and data providers. Excellent customer service skills including telephone techniques, listening skills, sense of urgency and enthusiasm. Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with end-users, IT professionals and management. Demonstrated skills in network project planning and management, documentation, problem-solving and work prioritization. Proven technical project management and documentation skills. Must be both team-oriented and self-motivated. Willing to travel, domestic and international This job requires that an individual come into contact with raw materials, products, equipment / machines, software or technology controlled by the Export Administration Regulations or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations. The job must be filled by a U.S. person, or a person for whom a valid export control license, or exception, has been obtained or is not required from the U.S. Government. Competencies 1) Network Engineering 30% Design, implement and maintain robust network infrastructures connecting all locations to deliver secure, high-availability (>99.9%) network services throughout a global environment. Recommend, develop, collaborate, and support adherence to network standards, policies, and procedures in accordance with best practices. Implement and support networking solutions according to II-VI Incorporated standards and industry best practices. Assist and consult with systems and network professionals, including those at other II-VI sites, on networking initiatives, technologies and compatibility between sites. Lead network infrastructure efforts (LAN and WAN) to include project planning, quality implementation and administration. 2) Network Management 15% Lead the selection and implementation of network monitoring tools to minimize network downtime and capacity constraints. Report vital statistics about performance on regular basis to appropriate management entities. Work with outside vendors to provide a stable network environment. Maintain and update network design and configuration documentation to support network continuity. Ensure continuous network operations through the design and implementation of resilient services and appropriate failover capabilities. Implement and maintain disaster recovery plans to ensure network infrastructure resiliency and recoverability. Participate in the validation and periodic testing of recovery procedures. 3) Project Management 5% Develop and manage multiple concurrent project plans to effectively implement information technology solutions. Communicate the scope, goals, deliverables and significant milestones. Determine and direct resource needs to complete projects. Facilitate global, regional, and local project team collaboration. Effectively communicate project expectations with team members and project stakeholders. Proactively identify, communicate and resolve project issues. Meet project schedules/milestones. Complete project deliverables according to department standards. 4) Network Security 20% Collaborate with the security team to assess, recommend and develop network infrastructure security initiatives. Provide ongoing analysis and report of network infrastructure security. Actively participate on the global security team, advance the group's global initiatives. Develop, implement and maintain the security controls protecting the network. Participate in the validation of controls. Recommend to management security process improvements. 5) Service Delivery And Operation / User Support 30% Identify, implement, monitor and maintain network services including the existing VoIP infrastructure, wireless, LAN/WAN topologies, and process control networks. Optimize the costs of networking and services. Review billing for all sites in the region and optimize the network to provide the lowest cost to II-VI. Define programs for expanding network services to improve connectivity and to replace equipment as it becomes outdated and obsolete Participate in administration and support of networks, security, telephony, video, wireless and operations. Manage and implement planned changes in pre-scheduled maintenance windows off hours. Deliver end-user support to a regional user base on a timely basis and in accordance with department standards, consistent with legal and statutory requirements and with industry best practices Frequently communicate with users and IT personnel/management as to the current status of problems/issues. Update documentation following resolution of problems. Recommend and adhere to department procedures, consistent with legal and statutory requirements and with industry best practices. Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
System & Network AdministrationEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
